moving air is called wind.
> wind also shaped many landforms ...
> Basically 2 types
1 erosional landforms
2 depositional landforms
> Now we discuss different landforms made by winds
1 Ventifacts
The relative significance of each of these processes appears to be a function of the properties of surface materials and the availability of abrasive particles. The landforms that result from aeolian erosion include ventifacts, ridge and swale systems, yardangs, desert depressions, and inverted relief.
2. Yardang
A yardang is a streamlined protuberance carved from bedrock or any consolidated or semiconsolidated material by the dual action of wind abrasion by dust and sand, and deflation which is the removal of loose material by wind turbulence.
3.Mushroom table
In deserts, a greater amount of sand and rock particles are transported close to the ground by the winds which cause more bottom erosion in overlying rocks than the top. This result in the formation of rock pillars shaped like a mushroom with narrow pillars with broad top surfaces.
> These are erosional landforms made by wind action now Depositional landforms
major depositional landform are Dunes & there are different types of dunes ..
Dunes
In physical geography, a dune is a hill of loose sand built by aeolian processes or the flow of water. Dunes occur in different shapes and sizes, formed by interaction with the flow of air or water.
1 Barchan dunes
2 coastal dunes
3 star dunes
4 dome
5 reverse dunes
6 longitudnal dunes
7 transverse dunes
this is about landforms made by wind.
